MSP International Airport
Freight Facilities

As part of the Runway 17/35 construction project, airline and freight facilities had to be relocated. New Federal Express and United Parcel Service buildings were completed in the infield area. The new Fed Ex and UPS facilities sit across a large aircraft apron from each other and can be accessed using Longfellow Avenue to Cargo Road.
The Metropolitan Airports Commission constructed another cargo facility for use by other shippers. The MAC Air Freight Facility is located on the northeast corner of the intersection of Longfellow Avenue and Cargo Road. Current users of the facility include DHL/Airborne and Airline Services International, which performs ground handling for several small air cargo operators.
Several airline businesses also were relocated as part of Runway 17/35 construction. Facilities for Mesaba Airlines, Champion Air and Sun Country Airlines were all located on 26th Avenue near Interstate 494. To make way for the completion of the new runway, the airlines were moved to a new apron on the west edge of the airport along Cargo Road and Longfellow Avenue.
The buildings and hangars that were occupied by these tenants have been demolished. Below are photos of some of the new facilities.
